Activity #1 Identifying Minerals
Students will use their mineral data that they collected last week to identify 12 common minerals and their chemical formulas.  This is due at the end of the period today.

Activity #4 Plotting Earthquakes and Volcanoes
Students will work on this activity Wednesday and Thursday and should understand the relationship between earthquakes and volcanoes.
Questions pages 178-181
Students will read pages 178-181 and answer questions on the location and formation of volcanoes along plate boundaries.  They will use this information in an activity they will start tomorrow on the relationship between earthquakes and volcanoes.  This is due tomorrow midway through the period. 
Activity #3 Locating epicenters
The students will be working on locating epicenter and interpreting data from a graph on Monday and Tuesday.  They will understand that p waves travel faster than s waves and that the most damage in an earthquake usually occurs near the epicenter
